Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management is committed to improving quality of life, access and mobility in a clean, safe and sustainable environment.

The government is working with industry, civil-society organisations, knowledge institutions and other authorities to achieve a sustainable economy for the future. In this circular economy, there will be no more waste, as resources will be reused again and again. The government-wide Circular Economy programme sets out what we will need to do to achieve a circular Dutch economy by 2050.

The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) is the national institute for strategic policy analysis on environment, nature, and spatial planning issues of national and international significance. Upp! is a social enterprise aiming to save plastic waste from incineration, landfilling and nature. We started in 2017 and now have activities in Vietnam, the Netherlands and Singapore. Upp! closes the plastic waste loop locally and in a circular way.

Upp! is social and impact driven. Our BHAG (Big Hairy Audicious Goal) is to save over 250 thousand ton of plastic waste from incineration, landfills and oceans in over 5 countries and with more than 10 plastic-waste-free cities. SmartCrusher bv has developed a technique for recovering the sand, the gravel, and the cement from concrete. SmartCrusher's goal is to reach: Climate neutral circular building in its broadest sense.
